Case Study

Research: Logo Meets Taste


Associating the logo to its food is the key in the process of designing and branding a restaurant. Most of the Asian restaurants make the ingredients as their logo, which is great. However, we wanted something more unique and effective, so we decided to use taste as its brand.

Inspiration: The Simpler. The Better


We tested a lot of icons and representations of spicy, but none of them managed to connect what we specifically wanted: Asian and spicy. The Chinese character, “la", in roman characters became our personal favorite and ultimate winner.

Process: Lettering & Defining


By using Chinese brush work to draw the characters and adding the color red for effect, we successfully represent the culture and spicy, exciting taste of "la".
